Based the trend forcast for AW 18 I created a dark tropical inspired print by painting bird of paradise silhouettes and then overlapping them in photoshop. Navy was an important trending colour for this season and the paradise texture complimented the navy, white and grey marle palette.
I created a series of paint pouring artworks to develop a print inspired by the SS18/19 forecast referencing microscopy and cellular structure. It was my first attempt at paint pouring and when the finished pieces were not as bubbly as I intended, I explored different ways to use them. I tore interesting shapes from paper to create a patchwork effect and added some white accent textures to tie in with the mesh panelling. Sales results show the print is selling faster than non-patterned items in this collection.
I designed a print based on a rainbow-brights trend for Tweens late Summer ‘18. I worked with the fashion designer to develop a rainbow effect to appeal to the savvy, growing-up-too-fast age group. I also provided styling and art direction for the photoshoot.
