I designed and typeset the book, illustrated the sticker page and provided editing, proofreading and print production management. The colour scheme, typography and illustration style strikes the right balance between fun and educational to suit the target audience; teen girls who are starting to take their dance training more seriously. My hunch was: Tourists might have trouble finding out what card type they need and where to buy it because the homepage does not mention visitors and the visitors section (under fare types) is poorly laid out. After pitching my idea to the Chairperson, I organised and hosted one of AGDA Victoria’s most successful new programs. The Art of Working Client Side was a panel discussion featuring notable in-house designers who spoke about the unique opportunities and challenges of internal creative teams. This book is an outstanding celebration of Bond University’s architectural history, and is now a part of the John Oxley collection at the State Library of Queensland. It was my first attempt at paint pouring and when the finished pieces were not as bubbly as I intended, I explored different ways to use them. I tore interesting shapes from paper to create a patchwork effect and added some white accent textures to tie in with the mesh panelling.
